The bivouac took place along the Niger River. Five artists (one Russian, one Andorran, and three French) worked with five African artists. This encounter resulted in the birth of 50 works of art, as well as a catalog and a video reportage. The works were exhibited and tell the experimental story of young contemporary talents.
An exhibition was presented in Niger, Limoges (France) during the international "Festival de Francophonies", in Toulouse (France) and in Andorra.

BIVOUAC IN THE TRANSSIBERIAN (2003)

By train, direction Bejing via Mongolia.

Never before an artist bivouac has been as nomadic as this one. From Moscow to Bejing through Mongolia with a stop in Oulan Bator, then Vladivostok, and finally back to Moscow. Five Painters and two photographers lived together for three weeks and worked jointly on the theme "carnet de voyage".

The art works created were later exhibited at St. Henri on the second weekend of September 2003. A "Carnet de voyage" created by one of the artists relates this experience.

BIVOUAC IN GERMANY, LEIPZIG (2005)

This "Artists Encounter" took place in Deutzen (40 km from Leipzig). Four painters (three French and one Spanish) met with German painters in a "Cultural Park", in a region full of lakes created from reclaimed strip mines.

This bivouac concluded with a French brunch and an auction in an open-air amphitheater. This encounter in the park was documented in a "Carnet de voyage" created by one of the artists.

BIVOUAC IN GERMANY, JENA (2006)

This latest "Artists Encounter" took place in Jena. Five "St Henri painters" (three French, one American and one German) met with German and Russian painters. Once opposed in a battle, French, German and Russian painters were reunited to paint outdooors, express and exchange their art with their own culture and sensibilities. It was the first of three symposiums, the next to take place in Russia in 2007 and the last in France in 2008.

This bivouac concluded with an exhibition of the paintings produced during the encouter.
